Straw yellow colour with green hues. Floral bouquet on the nose with subtle nutmeg notes, hints of tropical fruit. Dry, vividly crisp flavour, medium-bodied.
Score: 91 points. Bright red. Enticing aromas of red berries and red cherry complicated by flowers and marzipan. Clean and fresh on the palate, showing very good balancing acidity to the red cherry, mineral and sweet spice flavors. Finishes long and creamy, with rising peppery tannins and a hint of white chocolate. One of the best young wines I have ever had from San Giorgio.
Score: 91 points. A juicy and ripe wine with blueberry and cherry aromas and flavors. Full body, with well- integrated tannins and a long, delicious finish. Another year will make it even better. Try in 2014.
Score: 90+ points. Dark ruby- red. Zippy minerality enlivens aromas of dark red cherry, botanical herbs, chocolate and violet. More robust and structured than the 2008 normale, but also shows lovely clarity and freshness of dark red fruit. This Brunello has good volume and medicinal reserve. Finishnes with fine-grained tannins and outstanding lenght. A strong Brunello.

Score: 93 points. The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Ugolforte is beautiful and crisp in this vintage, with well-delineated aromatics and layers of vibrant fruit. In 2006 the Ugolforte comes across as rather feminine in style, but it seems to gain an attractive richness and sense of volume on the finish. All of the elements flow together gracefully in this understated, classy Brunello.
Score: 93 points. Sweet cherry and berry aromas and flavors are accented by licorice and sweet spices in this rich red, which builds nicely on the palate to a long aftertaste of licoriceand cherry. Shows plenty of life and freshness. Best from 2014 through 2032. 1,600 cases made.- B.S.
Score: 91 points. The 2005 Brunello di Montalcino “Ugolforte” blossoms from the glass with an expressive bouquet of freshly cut roses, sweet French oak, spices and raspberries. There is a lovely up-front raciness and freshness to the fruit. The wine loses a bit of persistence on the finish, but it is nevertheless beautifully balanced, harmonious and appealing.
Score: 91 points. Wonderful aromas to this wine of Indian spices and berries with hints of sultanas. Full body, with super velvety tannins and a long flavorful finish. A subtle, balanced and complete wine. Why wait? Best after 2010.- J.S.
